Please note:
- There may be some disruption during this period.

πΎ The Performance Clinic
De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
(pronounced “the-core-veins tee-no-sigh-no-vitis”)
A big name for a small spot that can cause a lot of pain – right near your wrist and thumb.
Ever felt wrist pain when giving a thumbs-up π or moving your thumb side-to-side?
That could be De Quervain’s. It often shows up after repetitive actions like:
- Gripping
- Typing
- Playing racquet sports (yes, tennis lovers – this one’s for you πΎ)
The pain comes from inflamed tendons and the sheath that covers them. Think of it like your thumb tendons are wrapped in cling film that's suddenly too tight and irritated.
π οΈ What helps?
- Rest from the aggravating activity (yes, even tennis… temporarily!)
- Hands-on treatment
- Strapping/taping for support
- A progressive rehab plan to rebuild strength in the wrist and thumb
