Covid 19 Member’s Information

In line with the Government’s advice published on Monday 11th May,
we are delighted that outdoor tennis is now allowed to be played in
England, but only if strict criteria are adhered to.  The Lawn Tennis
Association have also published their own guidance and
recommendations on how tennis venues and tennis players can get
back on court safely.

It is imperative that all users at The Northumberland Club adhere to
the following guidance.

  1. IMPORTANT: Do not leave your home to play tennis if Government
advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you
live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19, or you are in the
most vulnerable category and have been advised to shield from the
    coronavirus.

  1. Tennis Courts must be pre-booked using the club’s
on-line booking facility. Please ensure all players names are listed
when making the booking. Please remember your court number so
    avoid confusion upon arrival.

All Non Members that play on our courts must be playing with a
Member who holds a valid membership.

A day guest pass can be purchased for non members on the
membership section of our website and via this link.

Cost is £6 and valid for one session only.

  1. Only outdoor courts can be booked. All indoor facilities will remain
    closed.

  1. Court bookings are restricted to a maximum 90 minutes. Please
    respect this.

  1. Only singles play can take place unless players are from the same
household (in which case doubles can take place).

  1. Players travelling to play should avoid using public transport. Please
walk, cycle or travel by car.

  1. Please do not arrive at the Club any earlier than you need to.

  1. Please arrive changed, no indoor changing or bathroom facilities will
    be open.

  1. At all times, players should adhere to the Government’s social
distancing guidelines (staying at least 2m away from others), and
practice public health advice for hygiene.

Please wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before travelling
#to the Club. The club has a limited supply of hand sanitizer
available but please bring your own if you are able to.

We have ordered a further 6 sanitizer stations which will arrive at
the club in the next 4-6 weeks.

  1. Please enter your tennis court by its own specific entrance. In order
to avoid hand contact, please do not fasten shut the gates on courts
8 and 11. If you are on court 2, you will use the same access point
as court 1. Please wait for players on court 1 to allow you cross the
    court before doing so.

  1. Allow others to leave before you enter the court. If you need to wait
then do so away from the courts and clear of the gates (if applicable)

  1. To help prevent potential contact with Covid-19, please do not touch
court surrounds, tennis nets, net posts or net winders.
The Club will check that nets are the correct height.

  1. Players should not shake hands or high five during or after games.

  1. Stay on your side of court and avoid changing ends or agree to
change at opposite sides of the net.

  1. Players should bring their own tennis balls clearly marked to help
    identify.

  1. Avoid using your hands to pick up tennis balls that are not yours –
use your racket to hit them back to your opponent.

  1. Ensure you leave the court 5 minutes before the end of your allotted
time so that it is empty for the next players.

  1. Please do not congregate at the club after playing

  2. All Under 12’s who are participating in free play must be
accompanied with at least one parent or guardian. This is not
    applicable for juniors receiving coaching.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy being back on court!

The following coaches are available for lessons;

John Henderson, Lynda Henderson, Jordan Simpson, Ben Holroyd,
and John Boden. You can find their contact details here.

If you have any queries or would like to talk to one of the team
please email trent.ackhurst@pimsoflondon.com and one of us will
get back to you.

of any changes and are very much looking forward to welcoming
you back to the club!
