Our Welfare officer is Mandy Tulip and she can be contacted at the club on 0191 281 5858 for any advice or discussion. You will notice around the club our Safeguarding posters and Policies are available to read at the top of the stairs, landings and bar areas and a photograph of our welfare officers with direct contact details so you know who they are. All of our Safeguarding policies are available on our website.

At The Northumberland Club we pride ourselves on offering all our visitors, members and their guests a first class service every time they visit the Club. We genuinely believe that every single person deserves the opportunity to be able to enjoy sport irrespective of age, gender, colour, sexual orientation, social background or disability.
The Club strives to ensure that everybody who works and plays at The Northumberland Club should be able to do so in a pleasant and safe environment, without experiencing harassment, bullying or discrimination. We take these issues very seriously and go to great lengths to ensure our policies are adhered to.

The Club enthusiastically promotes sport for people with disabilities and is actively involved with the Lawn Tennis Associations 'Disability Tennis Network'. In 2013, the Club became the home of The North East Visually Impaired Tennis Club which caters for players who are blind or visually impaired.

Our 2015 TennisMark accreditation shows the Club provides the right environment to ensure the welfare of members and encourages everyone to enjoy sport and stay involved throughout their lives. An accredited Club is recognised as a safe, rewarding place for participants of all ages as well as helping parents and carers know that they're choosing the right club for their young people.

Our Club is much more than a centre of excellence for tennis and squash, it is a place where friendships are made and happiness can be found both on and off court.
