Having grown up in the West Country, joining the army 3 days after his 18th birthday, Gary quickly took full advantage of all that the military has to offer in fitness and adventure. Alongside operational tours of duty, Gary became a highly qualified Physical Training Instructor as well as teaching many outdoor pursuit activities, from Skiing to climbing, mountaineering to kayaking.

On leaving the service he quickly recognised the skills he had attained during his time could be put to good use as a Personal Trainer and Group fitness instructor. Very quickly noticing civilians responded very positively to his “fun, firm, friendly, military style” of teaching. From this he went on to form what is now ODFC Fitness. 20+ years on and still doing what he does and still loving the challenges it brings.
