Badminton players of all standards are catered for at The Northumberland Club with both social and competitive playing opportunities available. The Club has four Badminton England accredited courts situated within our sports hall and all members have the opportunity to book courts on our online booking system or via reception.

In 2016, The Northumberland Club received funding from Badminton England and can now boast one of the top halls in the country to develop North East shuttlers of all standards.

Club Play

The popular Adult Club Play sessions are held on Monday & Wednesday evenings between 20:00 and 22:00. Club play nights are a great way to enjoy social badminton and meet new players. Players of all standards are welcome to attend these sessions!

We also host our Friday night beginners & improvers coached club play. This session runs between 18:30-20:00 and is open to both members & non-members who want to develop their skills and join in with those of a similar standard.

Competition

The annual club tournament is always a popular event with players of all abilities striving to become the Club Champion. Another popular event in the badminton Calendar is the Christmas tournament and the Christmas night out.

Team Play

The Northumberland Club are represented in the Northumberland Badminton Leagues in both Men's and Mixed Doubles. For those who wish to play badminton to a more competitive standard, this is the perfect arena to test your on-court game!

Badminton Only Membership

For those interested in playing badminton, The Northumberland Club has adult memberships that cover all racket sports and a Badminton and Gym only Membership, at £30 per month.
