AGM & Trophy Presentation Evening

Last Friday, 3rd March, more than 30 members attended our AGM at the Village Hall on a wet evening. Club Chairman Ian Colquhoun welcomed all the members and introduced our guest of honour, Mr Chris Lott (Chairman of NLTA) to the members.
Ian went to talk about the considerable success the club had in 2016 on and off the court. He was delighted to inform the members that the Club had won Sport Tynedale, Club of the Year trophy as well as The Tynedale Trophy, this along with NLTA's Club of The Year which completed a hat trick of regional awards for the club last season.
He thanked all the club benefactors for 2016, particularly Rotary Club of Tynedale who paid to have the floodlights reinstated, NLTA for help with repairing the perimeter fencing and The Community Foundation for a grant to have the courts repainted, see below.
He expressed his thanks to all the hard working committee members for their not inconsiderable efforts. He talked about the sound footing the club is in financially, also he mentioned plans to have the courts repainted in season 2017.
Charlie Fellowes talked about the success of team Corbridge last season, 5 of the 6 teams entered in the Northumberland & Durham leagues gained promotion as league champions or runners up. (trophies were on display for members to view). The club will enter 7 teams in 2017 season.
Mike Pottage briefly mentioned how coach Simon had enjoyed coaching members last season, Nick Steenberg mentioned that the club would not be increasing subscription fees for season 2017, he also mentioned that membership peaked at 170 for last season, also more than 49 members have registered as BTM members and would be entered into the Club's Wimbledon ticket ballot in March.
Key club officers were appointed for next season, these were proposed by Sara Reid and seconded by Duncan Walne, there were no further questions so Ian closed the meeting.
Chris Lott presented the winners trophies under the watchful of eye of tournament organiser Ed Aitchison.
Chris Lott talked about the considerable progress the club had made in its short existence, he stated the club was now the sixth largest in Northumberland by membership. He congratulated the club on the various awards it had receieved in 2016 and mentioned that the club was the first to receive a Club of the Year trophy from NLTA. He wished the club well for 2017 season.
